Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) refers to the acknowledgement of skills and knowledge held as a result of formal and informal training, work experience and/or life experience. RPL is a system designed to enable you to match your knowledge and skills against the learning outcomes of a course. If your prior learning shows you can achieve the learning outcomes of the course, you may be given full or part credit for that course. Short courses or individual units, are not covered by RPL. RPL is only available to full Certificate courses. RPL refers to the acknowledgment of the full range of an individual's skills and knowledge irrespective of how it has been acquired. RPL is a means of measuring skills acquired through work or life experiences or through qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. RPL does not focus on how, when or where you acquired your skills, only that they relate to the learning outcomes of a course you are considering. Discuss RPL with our AWS Training Manager for more details.
