OHS MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING This four-hour session aims to provide participants with an understanding of legal responsibilities, the OHS Act and Regulation and Risk Management. Training is designed to be participant focused and interactive with role-plays based on manual handling. Training can be tailored specifically to your organisations needs and training delivered by an Occupational Therapist. This course has been developed by AWS to be customised to your organisations manual handling training needs. Please discuss with Training Manager. Course Content: Brief introduction to the OHS Act and Regulation (overview); Hazard Identification; Risk Assessment – analysis of hazards and controls; How the Body Works – basic anatomy and mechanics of the spine, work positions; Manual Handling – overview with mechanics of lifting, practices and work application; Basic principles of manual handling Safe Operating Procedures – ways to ensure the new practices continue.
